New season, new energy. A sharper look, a clearer story, same Builders underneath. Little cleanup, little evolution, all still us.

Intro

Semi-accidentally with the beginning of spring, we go live with a slightly update version of the visual universe of Builders. Around October last year we figured it was time to make what’s been growing under the surface more visible. Here’s the short version of what’s new, why it matters, and where we’re headed.

A lean approach

We kicked things off last October with one simple goal: make our branding more consistent across media and formats without losing the essence of what makes Builders, well, Builders. We realised that our original brand guide from 2022 (on the left) was starting evolving organically towards a new identity (on the right), but we never found the time to crystallise it.

We originally mapped out four different (and very crude) brand directions, tested them, debated them, and let the team feedback make them sharper over time, and more “true to ourselves”. A lean branding that I’ve been practising for years now — experiment, test, adapt.

Over time, we watched it evolve on its own — gradients sliding into our frames, single stars replacing rigid grids, little signals telling us “don’t fight it, follow it”.
You’ve probably seen it evolve with us over the past months — subtle shifts, now all coming together.

At the same time, we zoomed out and asked ourselves — what’s the common thread in everything we do? The answer was: bold founders, stellar companies.

That’s what ties it all together. The studio, the network, and soon, capital — all built to partner with bold founders, partner with them to move faster, go smarter, and turn big ideas into stellar companies.

Here are the 3 pillars where it all lines up:

  1. Studio — Builders’ original stomping ground
  2. Where we craft companies from scratch. We partner with bold founders, give them firepower, move fast, and validate early. (And yeah, we still get our hands dirty.)
  3. Network — The tech leaders and the Navigators
  4. The crew behind the crew. A tight, curated network of technical leaders, investors, experienced founders, and our Navigators — exit entrepreneurs who’ve been there, done that, and help others do it too. All backing bold founders chasing stellar outcomes.
  5. Capital — Rocket fuel for stellar companies
  6. Bold founders need rocket fuel. We’ve been hosting investor dinners, events, and roundtables — bringing capital closer to where the action is. Now we’re levelling up: Builders Capital is coming soon — our next fund that backs the companies we’ve partnered with from day one, companies of which we know the story, the hustle, and the mission. Capital is the rocket fuel — and without it, you’re not leaving orbit.

Nebulas

Remember those four brand directions we formulated in October which we mentioned above? A space-inspired direction won the most preferences within our team, so we decided to lean into it.

From there, we did not aim for forced and quick redesigns. Instead, we took a few months to visually explore that winning “space” direction, letting the brand evolve gradually, and starting creating “nebulas” that gradually felt more and more us. We could call it organic branding — following the drift instead of forcing it, and allowing for a visual language to organically grow within the team over a period of months. The result? A more coherent identity that fells unmistakably “Builders”.
